Why Commission a Copy?

A copy can replace an original that has been sold to realise its capital value, to soften the blow of parting with a beloved work of art.
A themed room of, for example, sporting art, can be achieved without prohibitively expensive originals.
Insurance premiums needn’t be such a headache.
It is a way to own a painting when the original is either unaffordable or unavailable.
The impact of a large dramatic painting can greatly enhance a reception area in a hotel or office.

I have worked on commissions up to 8 feet (240cm) square, so very large paintings don’t hold any particular terrors for me. Conversely, very large works can be scaled down in size if desired.

I only use the best materials available; I want my copies to last at least as long as the originals, so I source only the finest paint and canvas.

Cost

Depending on size and complexity, I charge anywhere between £1000 - £10,000. A sensible price can be negotiated which includes a top quality reproduction period frame and travelling expenses (should they be required). I normally request a 20% deposit.
